ANDREA MONTORSI (Red Alert, Italy)
Andrea Montorsi, was born in Modena, Italy on February 25th 1979. Since the beginning of the 90’s, he began to be interested in electronic dance music, the most popular genres at that time was Techno/Trance That’s why, from the age of 14 to 18 he started working as a dj in a local radio, where he conducted programs dedicated to dance music.
At the end of the 90’s, he wanted to start writing his own music, after working for some years in his own studio where he realized several demos, and after presenting his own material to several labels, he finally got a contract with the independent label called Gas Europe. In 2001, in collaboration with A&R (Alex Nocera and Beppe Barilli) he recorded and he produced “History”: his first successful piece of his career.
This piece reached the charts of Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and Spain where Vale Music as an exclusive licence released it, while in Germany’s charts with Onyx Record. In Germany he also had the opportunity to realize a video of this track, which was broadcasted, on Viva FM, Onyx TV and MTV After “History” other successes arrived, especially in the range of Hard European Trance. These facts allowed Andrea to DJ abroad in UK, Holland, Switzerland
and Germany.Andrea had numerous successful productions while producing for GAS
Europe, and he was ever present as a Resident DJ for Religion in the
UK and Europe, and also having played numerous times at Storm at the
emporium and Qdance in Holland and the mighty Atmosphere in Devon,
Andrea has been quoted as one of the godfathers of the European Hard
trance scene alongside Scott Project. After numerous years at Gas
Europe, the label closed down, due to downturn in Vinyl sales across
the world, But very quickly Italian Label Red Alert snapped him up, were he
continues to push the boundaries with his own taste of European Hard
Trance having produced and remixed hit after hit for this label.

PHIL YORK (Tranzlation, Nuklear Puppy)
A master of all trades, a jack of none, when it comes to hard dance Phil York is running things right now. Producer of recent innovative anthems like ‘Don’t Panic' and 'Antivirus’, a globe-trotting DJ, label owner of hard trance standard setter Tranzlation and promoter of Scotland's number one hard dance night Nuklear Puppy, everything Phil is touching right now is firing on all cylinders and
his DJ diary is perfect proof.
Northern trailblazers Good Greef, the scene dominating Tidy Weekenders, London's leader Frantic, Storm and the Escape in the park festival are all stamped in his '08 diary with debut tours of Argentina, Brazil & Norway adding to returns of his familiar stomping grounds Canada, U.S.A., Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Over the past year, Germany's massive Q-Base festival, Coloursfest, Escape, Slinky, Bionic, Parlez- Vous and Freeformation are others that have benefited from Phil's unique party starting touch.
It was seven years ago when an ascendant Phil and his partner Jason Cortez gave Edinburgh the hard dance night it was crying out for in Nuklear Puppy. Today, the much loved 'Puppy' is the most reliably packed monthly hard dance night on British soil with the likes of Judge Jules, Lisa Lashes, Eddie Halliwell, Marco V, Alex Kidd, Kutski, Andy Whitby and the Tidy Boys regularly appearing at the event that handed them their Edinburgh debuts.
It wasn't long before Phil rose to become a global headliner in his own right thanks to innovative boundary pushing productions that have appeared on labels like Tidy, Voltswagon and Masif. It was scene leaders Nukleuz that spotted his talent with ‘88MPH’ and 'Bad Idea' before hard trance classics like 'Glide' and the soaring 'Angels In Heaven' put his own label Tranzlation on the map as the leader of innovative hard trance, Scot Project, , Lisa Lashes, Dave Pearce, Tidy Boys and even the late great John Peel ,just a fraction of the DJs caning its early releases.
Nowadays if you think quality hard trance, you think Tranzlation – full stop. As labels drop like flies, Tranzlation continues to rise with Phil's astute a&r picking up anthems like Technikal's head-twisting 'Summasault' and Dark By Design & McBunn's fiercely euphoric 'Chasing Angels' and E.P.'s
like the Nation and Tech-Trance EP's adding both a thumping European groove and rattling tech energy to Tranzlation's trademark arm-raising euphoria.
Tranzlation, of course, remains just one very key cog in the machine behind York's label empire. Gathering plays from DJs as diverse as Judge Jules and Eddie Halliwell to DJ Dan and Detroit legend DJ3000, Phil's Bootek label has put the party back into pumping techno whilst Distinkt resurrects the golden euphoria of classic hard trance. Then there's Phil's Section 8 guise, which
he uses for his tougher European sounds. Put simply, if there's a stomping sound that's makes people move then Phil's got it licked... and then some!

KEVIN ENERGY (Frantic, Nu Energy Collective)
Having a whole host of accolades under his belt including Best Hard Dance DJ in 2006 and 2008 at the Hardcore Heaven Awards, Kevin Energy’s distinctive energized sound has been causing maximum dance floor damage, ensuring no corner of the country remains untouched. Appearances for Frantic, Contagious, Hindsight, Kiddfectious and the recent TDV Memorial in London are just a handful of the many highlights in 2008.
Kevin’s successes have continued both on and off the decks with his everlasting blaze of musical success emerging from the studio. His sound influenced by both underground European Hard Trance and the energized UK Hard House sound continues to be popular with both DJ’s and Clubber alike. ‘Eastern Promise’, ‘Pick Me Up’, ‘Stimulants’ and ‘Tribal Resistance’ all performed well on the download charts. His collaboration with Phil Reynolds ‘Pounding Sensex’ marked his label ‘Dynamix’ 20th release. The culmination of this hard work resulted in not one but two hugely popular albums entitled ‘Elevate’ adding to Kevin’s already extensive credentials.
For those who haven’t seen Kevin’s distinctive Hard Dance talents, get one thing clear… 2009 is set to surpass 2008 so prepare to get re-energised as Kevin gets set to step things up a gear with more explosive releases and continuing to gauge exactly what dance floor bombs to drop on his Hard Dance audiences.
